Everland, South Korea’s largest theme park located in the city of Yongin in Gyeonggi Province has adopted Ecube Labs’ smart waste management solution with the aim of increasing its operational waste collection efficiency and improving its already exceptional customer experience. The amusement park, which ranked 16th most visited theme park globally in 2016 with 7.2 million annual visitors, has just finished rolling out a fleet of 150 wirelessly connected CleanCUBE solar-powered waste compacting bins, which hold 5-8 times more waste than regular street bins.
The 100L CleanCUBE units were purchased after a successful pilot project in 2017, which allowed Everland to test the CleanCUBE’s robustness and calculate how the solution will strikingly impact in lowering waste collection costs. This can largely be due to the bin’s capacity of holding up to 500 liters of uncompacted waste. The theme park was also satisfied to notice how the solution alarmed the waste collectors well ahead of any waste overflow incidents through the CleanCityNetworks cloud platform. The operators were able to maintain litter-free streets even during the peak traffic hours of thousands of customers who visited the attractions.
Ecube Labs is looking forward to our continued partnership with Everland, ensuring the amusement park will benefit from optimized waste collection operations for many years to come. Furthermore, we are fully prepared to deploy the next batch of CleanCUBEs to Everland later this year in accordance with the theme park’s plans of replacing all of its traditional bins with solar-powered waste compacting stations.
